About our journey

Let me say a couple of things as we get started. It may seem like and easy thing to do, just weld up a frame, make some interior and exterior panels for it, drop in a motor and license it. I’m not going to sugar coat it, there is a difference between making one vehicle for yourself and building them for the masses. This project is undoubtedly a monumental task spanning multiple years. As I said on the Welcome page it is my plan not to take a paycheck until the first welded chassis comes of the line and is offered for sale. I don’t work for free and I intend on getting my investment back. The way to do that is to turn this into a viable self sustaining business that is making and keeping customers happy. You don’t do that by selling hats and t-shirts and pushing back production dates. There will be times of rapid progress and times where things grind to a halt. Anyone who has gone threw the process of R&D knows it is full of headaches, is very time consuming and expensive. I have confidence in my team and with the help of all the input we intend to harvest from the community I am confident we can sculpt a wonderful vehicle and greatly speed up the process of getting it to production.

I am a big fan of lead by example and the idea of don’t ask anyone else to do anything that you wouldn’t do. I have bought the first set of production machines myself, and hopefully it will start the ball rolling. I ask those of you that are interested in pursuing the dream with me that if you choose to donate money, you only donate an amount that you are comfortable with. For me this next one is different, but for you consider this venture a hobby or a form of entertainment, expect nothing out of it and giggle and laugh as we surpass what has taken other companies a decade or more and have not yet succeeded. So do some saving so you won’t have to take out a loan to pay for what you really want later when it becomes available.

It is important to remember that donations and contributions come in many forms. It is not always the money that moves us forward, often valuable donations come in the form of thoughts, ideas and contacts with people that have resources. Something like getting us into your friends brothers wind tunnel at 2 am could save us thousands and give us a needed gust of wind to help push us forward, pun intended. No matter what form your donation comes in, it is literally the stepping on the accelerator pedal.

While the ideas and suggestions are often hard to put a monetary value on, and keep track of, money itself is not. It is my intent that threw our startup period we will remain reasonably transparent. It is my intent that we make available the relative numbers of funds collected and the number of funds spent. This and other information will be posted to the web site often and accessible via different membership levels.

We are a tiny startup going up against two of my favorite three wheel car companies, who are now our competitors. We all have jobs, families and busy schedules, but even with all that I am confident we can manage to do what these other companies have not done and that is get a vehicle to production. Those companies have taken in millions of dollars and are still millions away from production. Each of these two companies, are millions in debt. As of the writing of this letter, unlike those companies we are not and it is my intent to keep it that way.

Sincerely,

Greg.
